SILICON VALLEY -- To celebrate its EMMY® nomination for the Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series "TERRENCE MCNALY: EVERY ACT OF LIFE,"AMERICAN MASTERS (PBS) will start a series of Virtual Talkbacks with the nominees filmmakers, playwrights, Artists and Actors, including MICHAEL KANTOR, JEFF KAUFMAN, MARCIA S. ROSS, MICHAEL URIE, MARJAN SAFINIA, F. MURRAY ABRAHAM, MICHAEL SHANNON, an others to be announced at a later date. The series will start on August 12, and will continue on August l9 and August 26. WHAT IS "AMERICAN MASTERS?" Winner of 76 EMMY® nominations, and 28 EMMY® Awards , including 10 for "Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series" and five for "Outstanding Nonfiction Special" PBS's'AMERICAN MASTERS is the only series, in this EMMY® category, that presents a selection of films celebrating an array of diverse and important legacies of American artists who are changing the world one project at a time and influencing art and humanity. In its series AMERICAN MASTERS continues to shed light on many of our unsung heroes: a playwright (LGBTQ) activist, a 90 year-old Pulitzer Prize winning Native American poet, an incredible amazing Latino performer/actor, a groundbreaking female science fiction writer, or one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, whose signature style helped define Abstract Expressionism. The upcoming events on AMERICAN MASTERS CELEBRATE THEIR EMMY® NOMINATION have been organized to highlight the lauded series and celebrate the life and legacy of TONY ® award winning playwright/LGBTQ activist "TERRENCE MCNALLY:EVERY ACT OF LIFE " documentary, which could be watched (streaming for free) on: https://www.pbs.org/show/american-masters/ through August 31st. JEFF KAUFMAN MARCIA S. ROSS who also produced the documentary, has a career of over 3 decades as an independent casting director and casting executive, serving l6 year as E V P for Casting at WALT DISNEY MOTION PICTURES, and 5 years as VP for Casting and Talent Development at WARNER BROTHERS TV, also produced the documentary. They will be joined by EMMY® nominees Executive producer MICHAEL KANTOR, and Award-wiinin actor MICHAEL URIE. The panel will be moderated by award-winning documentary filmaker MARJAN SAFINIA.
