NEW YORK, N.Y. ---The Franco Zeffirelli's dazzling production of Puccini's majestic opera Turandot, conducted by Marco Armiliato and sung by sopranos Christine Goerke and Anna Netrebko sharing the title role of legendary princess Turandot, returns to the Met, with soprano Netrebko making her Met role debut in the second run of the performances which will begin in April 2022. The all-stars list in the production also includes: Yusif Eyvazov and Yonghoon Lee as Calàf; Gabriella Reyes, Michelle Bradley, and Ermonela Jaho as Liu' and James Morris, Alexander Tsymbalyuk, and Ferruccio Furlanetto as Timur.
Turandot returns with nine performances beginning October 12, 2021, and five additional performances beginning April 30, 2022.

This Turandot production promises to be unique because it will feature, in the lead role of princess Turandot, two of opera's most thrilling voices: sopranos Goerke and soprano Netrebko, who will share the lead role on two different dates. This time, Ms.Goerke will be returning to the Met for the October and November performances this year, after singing the role of Turandot in triumphant past performances in 2019 and in 2015. Ms. Netrebko, who already had preview the role of Turandot in 2019 when she sang the second act from the opera during the 2019 New Year's Eve Gala. to great acclaim, on April 2022, Ms. Netrebko will make her anticipated Met Opera debut this time singing the role of princess Turandot in the complete opera.


Turandot Broadcast in Cinema, Radio and Online

The October 12 and 29 Performances of Turandot as well as the May 7, 2022. performance will be broadcast live on Met Opera Radio, on Sirius XM Channel 356. The May 7 performance will also be a broadcast of the Toll Brothers Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
